Heron Marsh

I visited this pub/​restaurant over the Bank Holiday weekend. I cannot say that I was impressed. You had to ask the staff behind the bar for the childrens menu and once I paid for our food we waited around 40mins for it even though the pub wasn’t even half full. Then when we finally received our food the waiter charged off without even offering us any sauces etc. There was also confusion with the food orders, we were offered somebody elses order of garlic bread even though we hadn’t ordered any. The food wasn’t too bad but the long wait and the service put me off the idea of going again.

Heron Marsh is a great big pub, with outdoor seating.
Inside you have a room specifically for children, which can be used for kids parties. They also have a few slot coin machine’s and kid’s machine as well. Also Televisions are in the other room as well for sport.
On the entrance their is a bar where you specifically order your drinks and food. We had the 2 for £10 deal which you choose from a specific menu. I ordered the sausage and mash, and a small Shandy. The mash was a bit stiff and the sausages was okay. My friend had the steak and chips and by looking at those chips they were not appealing and she left a lot on her plate. If I’am in this part of town again, i would still come this pub, but for the drinks and atmosphere but not for the 2 for £10.

The usual pub/​carvery That does steaks, burgers, onion rings, sunday roast etc.
Also you usual beers/​ciders that you will find everywhere, nothing is jumping out here is it?
However the food is a of a great a standard and a reasonable price. There’s also a 2 for 1 menu aswell that really is great value and is served by lovely staff behind the bar.
