I can’t personally speak for the men of Cardiff, but I know what I like my men to look like and as such can say that I do quite like this shop. While I wouldn’t list Ben Sherman in my list of favourite labels, I am a big fan of mod fashion, so I’m happy that there’s a shop that exists to provide today’s men with this look. The shop has a great look to it, and really knows what it’s selling and who it’s selling to, which is something that can’t be said for some of the other clothing stores in the Wellfield Road area. There’s plenty to be found in here too, whether you’re looking to go full mod, or if you’re just after a classic Fred Perry shirt. There aren’t nearly enough shops like this aimed specifically at men, and it’s great to finally see something that stands out from all the surf shops and Hollister wannabes.

Mojo King in the Wellfield Court Arcade is owned and run by the incredibly laid-back and likeable Paul Reeves, who bares a somewhat striking resemblance to a Mr. Paul Weller… some may say??? The tag line on the flyer for the shop reads, ‘for style with soul’, which is just about right in more ways than one… there’s definitely a lot of heart underpinning this business! If you hadn’t guessed it, this is where you need to come to find everything that is Mod, if you want to buy new, and avoid the randomness of the retro shops, which don’t always have what you want, and if they do, it may not be in your size…(but isn’t it great when it is!!!) Stocking Fred Perry, Gabicci Vintage, Baracuta, 80s Casuals and Ben Sherman men’s clothing and accessories, as well as a few other associated curios… well worth a visit!
