Park Inn by Radisson Cardiff North Hotel

What a shithole. Where do I begin? No washcloths in my room. I rang the front desk to ask for some. The guy from the front desk shows up in a few minutes with a bath mat. He tells me that there are no wash cloths today — none were delivered. Let that sink in for a bit; a hotel without a single clean wash cloth. I suppose he wanted me to shower with a bath mat? Anyway, I was informed that if a wash cloth could be located, that it would be brought to me. Hours later, they returned with exactly one. Just one. Two bath mats, one Sainsbury’s washcloth.
The shower itself is some sort of weird half a shower with a portion of it enclosed in glass, the other portion left open to the bathroom. So, showering covers the bathroom floor in water. Luckily, I had two bath mats. Shower is slippery as hell, so if you don’t hold on to something, you’ll break your ass.
Bed has one sheet — covering the mattress. No top sheet. Just a duvet. The sheet has some questionable stains, which makes me feel like I should have waited to shower in the morning with my solitary wash cloth.
The room itself looks like it belongs to some high school kid circa 1992 — one blue wall, a red plastic chair, poor lighting, funky carpet.
Wifi sucks and is limited to one device. Forget about calls, too. £2.99 per minute to call the US from here. The fuck? Seriously? That’s $ 6.00 a minute!
Anyway, at least it’s quiet. Probably because nobody who knows better stays here.

Staff here are always pleasant. The hotel itself is very well situated, within easy reach of public transport links and main roads.
The outside of the hotel looks a little dated but the rooms are clean and tidy and relatively modern.
You can normally find the rooms on Trivago etc for a very reasonable price, and usually with breakfast included.
Breakfast can be a bit of a cattle market on weekends though.

Friendly staff, but the room are standard for Park Inn clean but nothing special. English Breakfast Buffet was good.

Check was efficient and done with a friendly smile from the staff member manning the desk.
The room was a double standard. Very nice with the usual basic facilities.
Bed was comfortable and the hotel was nice and quiet which led to a good nights sleep.
Breakfast was buffet eat all you want. Although not sure that it was worth the £8.
