I wanted to like this place so badly. It’s a cool spot, looks OK(although as somebody else mentioned in a review, the décor is a bit bleak), but they’re missing the basics of a place you want to spend an hour or two in. GETANAUTOMATICDOORCLOSER!!! Most people expect the door to close itself when they walk in — it doesn’t, so the door ends up being left half open which just makes the whole place cold and draughty. We were sitting at a table where the spotlight over it went on and off continuously throughout our time here — horribly annoying. The WiFi is crap and unstable. The staff are pretentious and unwelcoming. The coffee is pretty good and the falafel wrap was actually really tasty. Get lunch elsewhere and then go to Little Man instead…

This is one of those places where I found myself willing them to do better… On paper, it should have a lot going for it. It’s a coffee shop, which roasts its own, and makes a lot of effort to describe where the coffee comes from(there’s a map on the wall that it explains it all). It has a good location on one of the main thoroughfare arcades between St Mary’s Street and the Hayes, in an area that could do with some nice coffee shops. And the staff were pleasant, too. But as a space it was extraordinarily unwelcoming. It looks as though it has been furnished on a shoestring, and not in a good way. The second-hand furniture is a weird mix of 70s wooden dining chairs(mine had failing upholstery and no padding) with more traditional tables, which just didn’t work. And a lot of the spce was just empty. The gloomy black décor — ceiling, floor, and walls(a few are bare brick) — made it feel like an alternative music scene night-club. It didn’t help that, on our visit, it was under-heated, so we kept our coats on, as did most of the other clientele. And, weirdly, the coffee wasn’t much to crow about either. Not bad, but completely unmemorable. Add in the fact our order arrived on a grubby looking black tray, and our disappointment was complete.

Un très grand espace bien décoré(il me semble que c’est une chaine, voilà pourquoi) avec de grande table en bois à partager. Cafés, thés, pâtisseries, on a tout pour passer un bon moment !
