I love Wok to Walk and the variety of options they have there! There are many options you can get, down to noodle type, rice, meats and vegetables. Everything is customizable and each additional add on has its own price value. I’ve been to the Wok to Walk in Amsterdam and London and the service has always been really quick– exactly what I’m looking for when I’m in a rush and want to get some Chinese style noodles. PS. This location does not accept the check in deal.

First things first, let me start by admitting that I am a Wokaholic. Yes. I typed that while looking at my Tupperware box of last nights noodles that I’m going to have for lunch, but hey — we’re all friends here. It’s one of the few, filling, healthy(ish) lunch options that is available in the city centre that doesn’t keep you waiting for 45 minutes, leaving you with just 15 minutes to break your chop sticks and start eating. Upon arrival, follow the three simple steps: Order Your Base. Your Favourites. …and your sauce. Not forgetting to have cash with you as they DON’T accept cards! My order is always the same: Whole Wheat Noodles, Fresh Vegetables, Tofu, Pak Choi and Hot Asia Sauce. You can then watch the ‘Wokists’ cook your meal in front of you. They even have a nutrition calculator online that you can use to check the ingredients that best suit what ‘My Fitness Pal’ will allow you to eat for the day. *pause to eat leftovers* Note: Hot Asia sauce is very HOT.

Fast, tasty, highly customisable pan-Asian food. Depending on your mix of rice or noodles, protein, sauces, extras and more you can go Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Korean cuisines and more served up quickly whether it’s a stay in or take away. As you can probably tell I’m a bit of a fan. The only down sides I would give is the lack of card payment availability and it can work out quite expensive.

Worth it! Only 7GBP, and taste is good! If you have short time, and do not hate Chinese food, it is best choice!

Hungry? In a rush? hit Wok to Walk, a Chinese-style fast food outlet that serves up quick delicious noodles. It’s healthy the food is prepared in front of you on the kitchen hobs and it fills your stomach for good 3 – 4 hours. Better than the chipies any day. Highly recommend it.

Cooked in its eponymous pan then given to you to eat on the hoof, what could be simpler about the premise of Wok To Walk? It sticks out like a particularly sore thumb on St Mary Street, near a Subway, a McDonald’s and only crawling distance from Caroline Street’s chip-based overload. And that individuality is despite being one of a franchise chain based all over Europe and the Americas(only two others operate in the UK, mind). But though Wok To Walk is clearly setting out to grab a slice of the lucrative post-pub/club city centre takeaway pie, it’s actually tasty enough that you don’t need to get sloshed to find it appetising in the first place. The mix and match ordering system is a neat, idiot-proof way for those who aren’t total oriental food aficionados to pick and choose a bit of everything that they like. And though you pay a touch more than the average soggy takeout at this end of town, the portions are genuinely intimidating in size; a welcome change from handing over several quid in return for a measly portion of chips at certain competitors in the vicinity.

I don’t really get the play on words with this place, wok to walk? huh? am I just being incredibly stupid? I don’t get it, sorry. Name aside, I have only ever visited this establishment at the end of a drinking evening, it’s not really my idea of end of night munching, but my friend loves chinese food. Personally i annoys the hell out of me, the last thing I want to do is slurp needles into my gob after I’ve had a few, it’s just not a nice sight. You can see the kitchen staff cooking your food, which is always a comforting thought, especially as your drunken mate has just abused the cashier for short changing them. You get your food served up in nifty little boxes, now this is exciting. But I have to say, you won’t really catch me coming back here, I found the food a little pricey for apres lash eatings and I can’t imagine eating here in the day as it’s not the most welcoming décor. I’ll stick to my chips thanks.

When a night out in Cardiff is reaching its end, standard procedure calls for a mandatory trip to Chippy Lane with the other 95% of clubbers and pub-goers on St Mary’s Street. However, after losing all of my mates in a drunken wander, I took it upon myself one night to join the lesser 5% of nightlife and head elsewhere in search of food. To cut a long and hazy story short, I eventually ended up in Wok to Walk, a Chinese-style fast food outlet that serves up quick and easy Asian dishes. The taste sensation that followed was unparalleled and has led me to seek out this take-away every time I find myself in the area after a few too many. Although using chopsticks after a night of drinking is harder than building a house of cards in an earthquake, ordering couldn’t be easier. With a quick and easy 3-step system, you simply choose a base(rice, noodles or veg), add any further ingredients that take your fancy and then choose your sauce. A structure that is so easy even the most intoxicated of people could, can and probably have pulled it off. Whatever you order, it is guaranteed to be exactly what you need to line your stomach in defence of the following morning’s impending hangover. Highly recommended.

Yes! This is exactly the kind of takeaway Cardiff has been missing all along. I’m a bit of a slave to American culture. I mean, I love British television series’, but there are so many more American shows, so you’re bound to end up sucking in more of that pernicious influence at times. And, as a result of this, I’ve been feeling sorely left out when ordering Chinese or Thai food; it never, ever comes in those cool little boxes with chopsticks. Instead, we’re given foil bowl like the slovenly proles that we really are. Bah! But now, we have Wok to Walk! And whilst it’s not quite exactly the same, it still has that same awesome look to it. And yes, I am raving about the boxes the food comes in. When you order here, you see the food cooked right in front of you on the kitchen hobs and woks that layer the counter area, so you know it’s freshly cooked at least. And, with all the vegetables there, you can at least pretend the fried egg-noodles you’re eating are healthy.

Take away stir fry meal boxes is such a good idea — far more nutritious than most fast food, it’s cooked über-fresh to order right in front of you in minutes, with a rainbow of stir fry veg adding colour to the dish — and none of the food sitting around for hours before it’s sold. Clearly aiming for function over form, this place is clean and bright but hardly enticing in terms of the décor — but since I have only ever bought take away from here that hasn’t really bothered me. Catering not only to lunchtime customers but also to post-pub and post-club clientele, this late-opening eatery is a welcome addition to the usual take away options open in the early hours. For those who’ve had one too many when they get there, they have an easy 3 steps to ordering any meal: first, choose your base(noodles, rice or mixed veg), then add your favourite ingredients(such as chicken, port, shrimps, mushrooms, tofu, etc), then add a sauce(teriyaki, sweet & sour, curry coconut, and so on). Simple, well-priced, healthy fast food!

Wok To Walk is an entirely serviceable fast food joint on St Mary Road. I’ve eaten here a couple of times when I’ve been in a rush, but have needed something really filling to sustain me for a few hours. Wok To Walk is the kind of place that can do that! Service is quick, and their meal boxes are stocked with generous portions of food. I like to think that I’m choosing a more healthy option when I come here. All the food is made fresh, and you can watch it being flung around in a wok whilst you wait, so you know exactly what they’ve done to it by the time it reaches the table. There’s more veg in one of their meals than in most of the other dishes served up by the fast food joints along this street, and the meat and chicken they use seems to be of a reasonable quality. It’s friendly enough, and always busy. Prices are reasonable. I’m not so keen on the décor, which is bog standard, easy to clean orange and cream Formica, all illuminated with bright lights just to make scream a little bit louder. I prefer fussy, dimly lit, country kitchen style eateries in preference to modern, antiseptic, practical layouts of questionable colour.

Please tell me if I’m stupid here but I don’t understand if the title is a little pun or not? Either way my small man brain is confused. What’s not confusing is the great, fast, tasty food you get here way into the night. which is quite handy as it’s on the road with all the clubs. On a slightly later than I should of night out I headed here afterwards for some egg noodles with beef and Teriyaki sauce covering the delicious post pub banquet. What also entertained this simple reviewer was that it is all cooked infront of you. It wasn’t bad for the price at all, it was a bit more than the usual chips I’d get but it did show me a place that I frequent often now when I’m sober.

I love Wok to Walk. Especially at 1am on a Sunday morning — it’s my post-booze takeaway of choice. You choose your noodles/rice, your meat/veg and your sauce and they cook it in a wok while you wait. Then you either sit at one of the long tables or you walk — with your precious box tucked beneath one arm — and when you crash onto your sofa you scoff down the noodles with the sauce running down your chin. I can’t say what it’s like on a weekday lunchtime(or indeed, at any other time apart from 1am on a Sunday) but I can only speak from experience — and I love it!

Fast, semi-affordable and tasty noodles. I have also spotted this shop in Amsterdam first but never there ate in one until today, I have to say that I was really pleased with it, the food is really tasty and the concept of you choosing your main ingredients works really well, for your stomach and your wallet, since the noodles already come with a selection of vegetables on top as standard. The things I didn’t like… Service wasn’t the best, the waiter was a bit rude, never looked at us and took a LONG time cooking a fast meal. Also I think the menu should include different types of noodles, like what Noodle Box at Cathays do. On a positive note I have to say that I couldn’t finish my lunch and saved it for supper, it kinda gives you a 2 in 1 deal! Think about it.

What a great place to eat. The only thing I don’t like is the price– if you want a few toppings, it can get expensive. Its quick, about 3minutes to get your food, it tastes great– lots of choice. Lots of veggie opinions as well.

As a regular customer I am disappointed with your review. Your writing seems to be up to scratch, it is well worded; but as for an accurate review it is far from. I have never been to a Wok to Walk in Amsterdam, and it would be a safe bet to say that the majority of customers have not — but they can still experience an excellent fast food restaurant when they visit one. Judging by your review on the Cardiff store I would say the Amsterdam Wok to Walks are out of this world. The Cardiff store in my opinion and many others is brilliant all round; the food tastes FANTASTIC — on par with many excellent Chinese restaurants, all in a carton/box to take away or eat in. How can you criticize so much? How many well established restaurants have some frozen food as well as freshly prepared food? As for a bad 80’s prison drama I REALLY cannot see where you are coming from? I appreciate having my food cooked by a talented Chinese chef in front of me rather that than being cooked by someone with with tons of personality and not much skill — obviously they have made the right choice judging by the taste sensation experienced in every bite. Oh yes, what a fantastic idea it would be to go to Amsterdam to a fast food outlet, don’t you think it defies the meaning of fast food? But then again it is in your knowledgeable opinion.

The concept is sound — the concept is brilliant — and in Amsterdam, the Wok to Walks ARE brilliant. Fresh food and fast — 3 mins in a hot wok and you’ve got a taste sensation. You pick your noodles or rice, then your filling(pork, prawns, veg etc) and finally your sauce and in a blink you’re out the door with a carton and chopsticks and a tasty yummy meal. The Cardiff branch, however, has that inimitable british style of cooking whereby the ingredients seem to have been defrosted in a microwave minutes before being cooked up by someone with as much enthusiasm for what they’re doing as Chairman Mao’s lawyers. If you like chicken grown on trees and you like seasoning only appreciated by those too inebriated to pick up chopsticks, then this place is for you! A distinct lack of chilli on the tables makes this a huge disappointment, combined with décor that makes you think you’re in some 80s bad prison drama leads quickly to the conclusion that you should have had a few more shooters before stopping off at Wok to Walk. There may be a million bicycles in Bejing, but there’s no Bejing flavour in what they’re peddling here! It’s worth paying extra and going to Amsterdam!
