This is a good family run butcher’s shop of many years standing in West Street Carrickfergus. I find that they provide quality cuts of meat and a friendly service. Moved up and across the street in recent months and, I must say, they have a very attractive shop.
Like many other buthers these days they have broadened the scope of what thet offer by incorporating a delicatessen counter. I’m never quite sure that I like cooked products being sold in the same general environment as raw meat products but I know they conform to health and it’s just one of my things.
Do try some of Mc Dowell’s pies, they have a delicious steak pie.
