«Fine dining» was the sign outside so hopes were high. I ordered the daube of beef which arrived dry and depressed accompanied by frozen veg and some gloopy peppercorn sauce that may have been in powder form not long ago. Nice set up in the pub if youre ok with sport on tv, prices ok, service was good but not fine dining.

This local bar situated in the heart of castlewellan is a hiden treasure! The food is delicious and reasonably priced and the craic and atmosphere is brilliant. I had one of the best meals in Maginn’s at christmas and would highly recommend the food. Maginn’s is a social bar at the weekend with live bands, music and dj’s at the weekend. The beverages are cheaper than the surrounding bars and promotions are regularly on offer. I would definitely recommend Maginn’s for a night out. The bar attracts a wide age –range and attracts people from the surrounding villages and towns.
