On my visits to my favourite B&B in the UK, Batts Farm in Cheddar, Somerset, I’ve enjoyed a variety of activities from shopping, visiting the Cheddar Gorge caves to playing on the beach at Weston Super Mare to karting here The karting circuit is very close to Batts Farm and is based in a large building, which I guess must be a converted barn. It’s an indoor circuit but large with a long straight and some nice twists and turns. I paid for a timed session where you can drive as many laps as possible in a set time. The overalls, gloves and helmet suffer from the same problem as most karting places — slightly damp from the previous user! Following the safely briefing, we were kitted into the karts and off we went. A few laps to familiarise ourselves with the limits of the kart and nuances of the circuit and soon, we were blasting round with several good spots to attempt overtaking manoeuvres. At the end of the session, we were given computer printouts of our lap times. Great fun. On Sundays, the circuit is used for a market
