I heard about Explorers from some friends of mine who recently returned home to Surrey, England and absolutely raved about their trip. They went to Spain in the Explorers campervan and it sounded so good, I had to try it out for myself. I booked online on their website for my wife’s birthday, and I picked it up from Epping in London and took it down through dover, down the south of France and into Spain and back. It ran flawlessly, petrol usage was reasonable, it seems pretty new and safe and came with almost all the essentials needed for camping which is nice because I noticed that spaceships and wicked don’t provide this. I always dread packing stuff for camping too, so I really liked how it was basically all organized for me. The website tells you exactly what they include with each vehicle so you don’t waste time and space bringing unnecessary items that are already included in the van. Explorers just seemed to have better value for money. The only thing we had to pick up camping materials wise was dish soap for washing up and paper towels! We made lots of dinners ourselves with the cooking materials provided. It was nice that at meals we had the option of a full size seating area inside(very little setup required to convert the bed) or we could sit outside the van with camping chairs and table. My wife and I found the indoor seating nice as it did rain a few days and felt well protected from the weather without having to go to the hassle of setting tarps up at every site we went to. That would be really frustrating on a trip where you are changing venues on a day to day basis. We were worried the bed would be too small/short, but were surprised at how comfortable it was(I am 6“2). It was also great that we could hook up our iphones to listen to music for the long drive(probably would have gone crazy without me tunes!) The guys at Explorer were friendly normal people, and went over the features of the van in great detail when we picked it up. The only problem is my wife won’t stop pestering me about where we are going to go with Explorers for her next birthday! Hire one, and go to Europe! You won’t regret it, I promise!
