The Vestry Hotel

i stayed here for the night and was soooo pleased with the room it was spacious clean and the bed was comfy. I started the night out there and then came back for the latter part of the evening, there was live music and a great atmosphere. the staff were nice and full of fun. a good place to stay

Real handy for a bite if you’re parked up in the Southgate car park. Very reasonable and well priced food. Look out for a 2 for 1 offer starting in January. Yet another good spot to stay overnight, especially if you’re attending Confucius Chinese New Year.

This is a really nice pub, i like all the old church décor they’ve done it with. The only let down is it can sometimes be full of students that nurse one beer all night and drink shots so they are all wasted. Avoid this place on a Sat night. During the day its great. They also get in some terrible djs on a Sat night that play really badly mixed music. The food is good value for money and they give you big portions which is great. If you’re looking for a better pub i would reccommend The Fountain which i think is owned by the same people.

What a disjointed experience. When you arrive, you’re greeted by a noisy late night meat-​market Yates-​style pub. But when you get to your room it’s like you’re at a different venue. The rooms are lovely, big with a giant bath and four poster bed. But when you go down to breakfast, it’s cheap hotel mode again. All in all, it’s fine as a base but not one to send the parents too perhaps.

More a pub than hotel but no worse for that. We paid £75 for a double room which was named after a bishop (Ralph de Luffa or room 6). This room was pretty large with a dressing table, iron, tea making stuff, complimentary biscuits electric heater that worked, Freeview box & a rather small & old TV. The en-​suite bathroom was modern with a heated rail that kept it warm. The shower over the bath worked well.
There was a band playing below in the bar area by the sound of it around 10pm so we both went elsewhere for a drink. We returned by an entrance for guests about 11:40. The band had stopped playing, we encountered no disturbance & was able to get to sleep in the not too soft double bed.
Breakfast was served between 7:30 & 10:00am. Cereal & fruit juice was available. Good menu choice — I had the full English & Leilah went for Salmon & cream cheese on toasted muffins. I chose poached eggs with rather solid yokes served on less than warm plates — breakfast was unusually busy this particular Friday morning so gave the very pleasant staff the benefit of a little doubt. They allowed us to leave 3 carrier bags for the day. Decent hand-​pumped beer in the bar, clean carpets — a great stay & would return! You are expected to vacate the rooms by 11am

Lovely, clean room. Great food, great atmosphere and very friendly staff!
I travelled from Manchester, and Chichester and The Vestry were both worth the long journey.
I’m looking forward to going again :)

good, reasonably priced food during the day, lively atmosphere at night. Live music organised regularly. small outside area at the front. relaxed service, but fine if your not too worried. perfect for a weekend meal with mates or an office lunch

brilliant pub, great selection of beers and wines and spirits. had great night out recently. friendly staff. great atmosphere. very busy but worth a visit. meet friends there or go with mate and have good nite out.

I have been to the vestry for lunch several times whilst shopping in Chichester and also of an evening. It has a varied menu and some really good offers i. e, two meals for £10. The food is lovely, the staff are friendly and I would highly recommend it.
