Nice ambiance, friendly staff and good food. We had the Sunday roast, belly pork and a roast beef — loved how you can have a double roast sharing platter for two people. The puddings were nice too. Recommended.

Dropped by this old English pub on the way back to London. They do 2 courses for £13, food was quite tasty. Friendly staffs. It was a nice and relaxing break before hitting the motorway again.

This pub/​restaurant have been awarded National Pub Caterer of the Year, year after year and the head chef has been at The Old House at Home since the 1980s I believe. Numerous awards, certificates and newspaper cuttings adorn the walls of this cosy watering-​hole. Although you could happily come here just for a drink, the food is of such high quality that the majority of customers come to eat and people travle from far and wide too. You should always book ahead to avoid disappointment.
