Chipping Campden has a plethora of restaurants and hotels ranging from cheap to expensive covering all types of cuisine. After searching all the others I ended up at Joel’s for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. It’s on an island between two roads and can be easily missed so look out for it! The theme is French cuisine and there was an interesting lunch menu of snacks and meals. After taking a while to pick what I wanted(there was too much choice) I opted for a French favourite of Croque Monsieur. I am always worried about ordering this outside of France but what arrived was completely authentic both on taste and look. It was the best Croque Monsieur I have ever had outside of France and the side of French Fries made the dish both plentiful and very filling. Reasonably priced with friendly staff and a lovely al fresco seating area for when the sun shines. If I am ever in Chipping Campden again I will be sure to pay another visit.
