It’s great for people watching that’s all I’ll say ahaha! I went to school in Clydebank and always was disappointed with rubbish shopping centre! Shops are as sad as the expression on everyone’s face.

Pound shop paradise! If you love perusing tat whilst dodging overweight single mums with their overweight children then this is the place for you. The jobsworth security guards whizz round proudly on their segway’s chasing the local young team and the odd drunk whilst the collective aroma of grease, sweat and fake perfume assault your nostrils as you dodge push-chairs with 10 year olds in them, mobility scooters with obese 20 something’s in them and sky tv sales persons. This once quaint, bustling array of well known, quality, locally owned outlets has become a corporate dump that has sold out its identity to the cheap shop stores and faceless national chains, most likely for £1.

It’s okay but too many pound shops and the bottom bit of the center really needs done up.

Just a usual town shopping center except there’s a cinema and a good sized Asda attached. It’s also brilliant for public transport as there’s at least 3 train stations nearby and loads of busses go past to everywhere from Dumbarton to Glasgow.

Growing up in Clydebank, I was always frustrated when a new Pound Shop or More Store arrived in the shopping centre. The old Clydebank FC was knocked down and made into huge retails spaces which were quickly filled by Poundstrecher and a discount shoe shop. The other side of the road became the new home of Next Clearance. «Why doesn’t Clydebank have any decent shops?» I used to moan. «What about Topshop, or a Gap?» I suppose Clydebank Shopping Centre is filled with cheap shops because it is based in a town with a lot of poverty. Granted, it’s not all bad, there is a decent New Look and Dorothy Perkins and a massive 24 hour Asda. However, Bankies looking for quality retailers end up just making the 15 minute drive to either Braehead or Silverburn or jump on the train to the city centre.

Definitely in the first division of shopping centres rather than the Premier League, Clyde is a decent resource for Clydebank but not really a place worth going out of your way for. Designer shops are at a premium. This is Primark rather than Top Shop. Farmfoods rather than Marks and Spencers. It does receive some plus points for having an Asda the size of a small country, but if you’re looking for better choice and better quality, there’s little question you are better off with Silverburn or Braehead.

It’s amazing to think how much I used to love this place as a kid, mainly because it was the best and nearest place to enlargen my Subbuteo collection. I guess it was also a while before I realised that there are much bigger and better shopping centres in Glasgow, namely Buchanan Galleries and Braehead. Nowadays, the Clyde Shopping Centre appears to be an eagle’s nest of delinquency, with countless groups of shellsuited neds polluting the area. Putting this aside, there is a good number of varied retailers here, though they tend to be ones aimed at the more working class folk. Asda, Shoe Zone, the Officer’s Club, Farmfoods, you get the picture. However, there are some of the more popular high street chains based here too — Burtons, New Look and HMV for example. It’s certainly useful to have one of these outlets in a place a good bit away from Glasgow city centre, saving you from having to travel through there to get what you’re after.

This shopping centre is a lot bigger than I expected — I came in merely looking for the toilets when on a lunch break and my lunch break was practically over by the time I found them. It’s quite a confusing place if you’ve never been in before(or maybe that’s just me). There is an influx of cheaper stores though which pushes it behind the likes of Silverburn, Buchanan Galleries and Braehead. Handy for locals though.

This place is big and busy, and well stocked with opportunities to spend your money. If you live near the area and don’t have time to go into the city centre, this is a miniature town from town, with a lot of major high street stores to choose from. However, you’re more likely to find The More Store and New Look than topshop here, or budget pound stores than supemarkets. That being said, there is a huge Asda right outside it. It’s good, but let’s just say it’s no Buchanan Galleries, and not worth the trip if you don’t live nearby.

This is quite an old town centre shopping centre and it’s a bit dirty and dated although they have tried to upgrade it and they’ve done quite well with the bit that they have worked on. There are all the usual shops that you get in every shopping centre, and a lot of them are at the lower end of the market so it’s a good place to go if you’re shopping without a lot of spare cash.

Clydebank Shopping Centre has a huge variety of shops with something to suit everyone. You’ll find the expected stores like Argos, Woolworths, asda etc, along with a few independent shops like Gravity. There’s loads of places to eat, plenty of parking places, and also a cinema and a huge asda.
