The food is good value but I was appalled to see staff handling food and then handling money with the same pair of gloves on. money is filthy and should NEVER be handled without taking off the gloves that are used to handle food. when challenged about this I was told that she was using the gloves only to handle money and would take the gloves off to handle food. surely it should be the other way around! !

So iv never been to this pacific obriens but damn they do some good toast haha! I usually start my early shifts about 4am and the first thing I do on my break is morning toast and tea from obriens! Acctually I’m lying it doesn’t actually matter if it’s a morning shift or not sometimes i like an odd bit in the afternoon! Don’t deny it you know what I mean! Sometimes it’s just all about the toast and tea :)

One of the nicer places to eat in Clydebank, which perhaps says more about the dining out options in general. Nevertheless, this place is better than the average O’Briens thanks to the vast, open-planned seating area making it an ideal people watching spot, which can be quite entertaining here. The food is decent as well, if not particularly cheap, and I, like the previous Unilocaler, particularly recommend the shambo.

Sometimes I think back to Clydebank Shopping Centre before it had its make over and have a little chuckle to myself at how poor the facilities were. Okay, even post makeover it’s hardly Silverburn(or even The Parkhead Forge for that matter) but it used to be there wasn’t a single place you could sit down for lunch without seriously worrying about the result it would have on your cholesterol. That is why it is so nice the centre now has an O’Briens, a cheap and handy little site at the top of the centre providing healthy lunches which can easily be grabbed to go. Unlike other chains, the sandwiches are not smeared in butter or mayo and are filled with fresh food which the assistant prepares before your eyes. A personal favourite of mine is the toasted«shambo»(a funny shaped bread. Why it is called a shambo I don’t know and I don’t really care as long as it tastes good) stuffed with mozzarella, pesto, sunblush tomatoes and salad. The last time I visited O’Briens in Clydebank there was only one young man serving and another gentleman hovering around in the background(is there anything more irritating than watching an employee doing something else other than serving when there is a queue? I will give £20 to whoever can offer an alternative.) The gentleman then called to me that he would serve me in a minute, only to disappear into the back office never to be seen again. By me anyway. The young man then took an absolute eternity to make up my shambo until I told him I had a train to catch at which point, to be fair on him, he made up the rest of my sandwich at lightening speed. That experience did not dissuade me from visiting O’Brien’s again however. It is cheap and tasty and I’m sure my cholesterol levels are thanking me.

Just like any other O’Briens I guess. Lovely home made soup, sandwiches and strong coffee! Prices aren’t great, it tends to be quite busy, and I’m not too keen on the location of the o’briens in Clydebank, though it does let you spy on who shops in Primark lol!
