Loved Lewsey Lou’s so much we ate here 3 times in a week and essentially twice in a 24 hour period! Located beside the Driftwood Spars, down at Trevevance Cove, it does take away. But I’m convinced it is owned by the Spars as lots of people would sit in the beer garden with drinks and when the munchies kicked in, would order fish and chips from Lewsey Lou’s despite the pub also doing food… Lewsey Lou’s is a chip shop and wet fish shop. So you can go in and get your fish and chips — based on the local catch, but also buy fish if you want to take it home and cook it yourself. Haddock, squid, scallops, lemon sole, were all on the menu. The average cost of a fish supper was around £8 but the portions were huge. A massive shovel of chips underneath a great sized piece of fish with lots of salt and vinegar — yum, yum! Excellent food and very good value. Being gluten free, I didn’t have fish in batter but there were the options to have fish grilled — I had both the haddock and also scallop skewers and lovely butters on it — the lime and avocado butter is lovely, as it the lemon caper butter. It is well worth a visit — it can get busy with locals, tourists and beer garden drinkers getting the munchies so at peak times you might wait 30 minutes, but it is worth it! I think they may only take cash, but there is a cash machine in the upstairs of the Spars directly across the road…
