One of the better supermarkets in Colchester, everything you would need in one place. The only negative is the road access as can become very conjested during busy times but this isn’t the stores fault!

I have to say that Colchester Asda is superb, prices are great, the music to suit most customers ears, and above all friendly staff always willing to help and smiling.

this is a good store but could do with expanding, as colchester grows this store is getting to busy, and making it impossible to get round. but is good on prices and selections.

Lovely Store. Big, wide selection of products and in every price range. For a stingy Dutchmen like me an ideal place before heading to Harwich. Great selection of microwave and oven dishes.

this is where I do most my food shopping. its a typical asda store with what feels sometimes like everything under the sun in it. They always ask me for ID to buy alcohol, and i’m 25. i guess thats not such a bad thing, a compliment maybe. there is an upstairs section with all the clothes. and you can take your trolley up and down on the escalator thing. Its quite big and can get very busy in the evenings. If you are staying close by, you can order online and they will deliver. I think that if you shop carefully, asda can be one of the cheapest supermarkets.

The asda store is very large, with a variety of impressively sized departments including homeware and electronics. They have recently added a chemist which is very cheap and can process prescriptions quicker than most other chemists. The staff are very friendly and have excellent knowledge of the products in store, and I am yet to encounter anyone being less than charming there. It often has many brilliant deals, particularly around christmas time and is in my opinion the best supermarket in Colchester, for as well as having cheaper prices and friendlier staff it also has the most opening hours; 24 hours monday to friday, closing at ten on a saturday and four on a sunday. The supermarket itself is placed in a small business park just outside of the town center, and is next to the train station. The business park also has other good stores, mainly home furnishing, bathroom and electrical stores. There’s also a pizza hut for when all the shopping is hungry work! There is ample parking, in the five years I have shopped there I have never seen the carpark full. Recommended for Colchesterians!

This Asda has been extended recently to now have a large George clothing section. The stock changes every 6 weeks so there is always something new coming in. The bread and meat section is very good but i do find the vegetables not as good as they could be. Plenty parking space and close to other superstores.

Asda is one of the major supermarkets in Colchester, mainly competing with Tesco in Highwoods and the Hythe. As mentioned by previous reviewers, a fun feature of the store is the travelators, which allow you take a trolley up to the clothing department. Even I, as mature as I clearly am, cannot resist the urge to walk the wrong way down these flat walkways, pretending to be Michael Jackson(before he went weird, of course!). The store itself offers most of the usual features, such as food, a bakery, fishmongers and entertainment. In all, a decent store with cheap prices on everyday goods.
