Hawthorn Surgery

I joined this surgery when I first moved to Colchester and wasn’t impressed. The only service I ever used them for was to get contraceptive pills. I told them that I have to take them more frequently because of a medical condition. Still, when I went to collect my repeat prescription, I was told that I «wasn’t due yet» and that they couldn’t give me the medicine. It was only after I phoned up afterwards and explained about my medical issue AGAIN that they agreed to let me have it.
Also, at certain times you may not be able to collect a prescription because they give their box of prescriptions to the pharmacy next door, which has different opening hourse. Means that if you come in on a Monday morning, the pharmacy will not yet have opened and given back the box. So then, if you’re working, you’ll have to wait till Monday afternoon because both surgery and pharmacy are closed between one and two for lunch break. Not a good service at all.
