This is a Wildlife Trust nature reserve. I guess there would be more wildlife during warmer weather although it’s still nice for walks and there are a couple of things to do inside. There is also a small café which is very clean and does lovely food. I went with my parents and my children and we all enjoyed ourselves. You have to pay to get in but it’s only £6 for a family ticket or £2.50 for adults(with concessions at £1.50) and £1 for children. The café is about average price but there are plenty of places to sit if you wanted to take a picnic. There are several hides where you can watch the ducks and birds on the pools and there are different walks including a shorter, accessible, all weather walk.

This is a lovely place for a walk; a nature reserve with a difference. While it is not stereotypically the most picturesque place, you feel that you are really in nature at its rawest. However, if memory serves correctly, these areas are slightly disrupted by telephone pylons and electricity pylons, which although necessary, slightly take away from the natural scenery. There is a small gift shop which has a lovely collection of things and they obviously seem to offer a great schools programme since there are education rooms and areas decked out for large groups, including parties. Worth a walk if you are bored.
