The Mercia Live Level is a new venue for live entertainment in Coventry. Based alongside the Ricoh Arena is has seating for 650 or can host 1000 people standing. The seating is comfortable and because it is a small venue the audience are all within close proximity of the stage with good visibility. I’d love to say I went here to see someone cool like The Hoosiers, who played here recently. Sadly I have to admit that I took my granddaughter to see Peppa Pig’s Party! The seating arrangement was good because there was plenty of room between each row of seats. Particularly important when you have small children who decide they need the toilet when everyone is seated. Unlike some other venues you don;t have to ask everyone to get up so you can get out. The Live Level is easy to get to, being just off the M6 motorway and A444 and there is plenty of parking on site. The Live Level is situated very close to a large shopping area with M&S and Tesco within walking distance. The venue is more suited to smaller ‘gigs’ such as Peppa Pig or comedy evenings as it is ‘intimate’ and therefore too small to host major events. It is however on the same site as the Ricoh Arena which has hosted groups such as Take That, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Pink, Bön Jovie, etc and is soon to host The Kings Of Leon.
