Pets At Home

Although smaller than the store at Gallager, this store still has everything I need. Visit here often with my puppy, she loves it! Plenty of toys, treats, bedding etc for all pets.

Pets at Home is a superstore for all aspects of pet feeding and care. Whilst it tends to be cheaper than small pet shops, the prices cannot compete with the big supermarkets these days. The Canley branch has lots of pets to buy, mainly fluffy bunnies and guinea pigs. The fish stocks have been vastly improved, and there doesn’t seem to be any disease in their tanks any more. Some of the staff are knowledgeable and obviously have an interest in their subject, but the service is generally poor; you have to hang around far too often at the tills and if you ask if they stock something specific the answer is likely to be ‘I don’t know’. I only tend to use this store if I can’t get to a traditional (knowledgeable) pet store and the supermarkets don’t stock what I need. It’s handy for that, but not much else, I’d rather pay a little extra to be served by someone who knows what they’re talking about
