Well, that was a pleasant surprise. Popped into the Moon Under Water for a lunchtime sandwich and discovered Mexican Monday. I am a big fan of mexican food so I didnt set my expectations too high when I ordered a shaved steak burrito, after all it was weatherspoons. Boy was I in for a treat! Tasty, succulent filling, fresh and floury tortilla wrap and three generous dollops of salsa, sour cream and guacamole on the side. Just enough heat to be pleasant and not overpowering. Two of us ate(Julie had pulled pork quesadillas with rice), had drinks(mexican beer with the obligatory lime wedge in the neck of the bottle) and all for under £14.

Right, as I visit my local in the least once a week I think I should start checking in, and as they are now serving the most delicious mulled cider for Christmas I shall give a short review of this weatherspoons. It’s my local so very friendly, meals cheap, not great but never bad, toilets clean and 1 minute walk from my front door. The mulled cider at Christmas is a definite winner, already looking forward to burns night in January when haggis neeps and tatties are on the menu, plenty of beer festivals throughout the year, I love my local and is the best pub in the neighbourhood, some of the independent pubs nearby are dire. So for a chain pub I love my local weatherspoons.
