I quite like Caspian Fish. I’m sure some of you understand the sudden craving you may get for some yummy fish and chips. When you’re feeling greasy and you just want to stick your face in some lovely fried batter. Talk about comfort food! ~ Atmosphere: A bit squished, with a long and narrow corridor with all the booths. The décor is plain and lacklustre, but I’m not one of those people who really weigh in ambiance when deciding on whether or not I like the place. It’s always about the food for me! With that said, it is just important to note that Caspian Fish isn’t exactly sleek and classy, so it might not be the perfect setting depending on what you’re after! ~ Customer Service: Great and personable. The servers casually greet you like family, but they are very quick and efficient workers as well. After ordering, you get your food not 2 minutes later! Talk about fulfilling my cravings in an instant! ~ Food: Not bad at all. I opted for a classic cod & chips with a side of gravy as well and the batter on the cod was cooked beautifully. The fish was also very tender and moist. Some shops sometimes give you soggy batter, but Caspian Fish has it crunchy, but not too overwhelming. The only downside about the fish is that I really didn’t like how they left the skin on the cod. It was a bit slimy, but a simple removal job of the skin did the trick. The chips were kind of meh — nothing too special. A bit too hard for my liking but I think that’s just a matter of personal preference. The gravy was very rich and had a lovely taste to it so it went very well with the chips. Everything came out piping hot and was well worth the reasonable prices. — Not the best fish & chips I’ve had, but still hit the spot. I definitely wouldn’t be opposed to coming back!
