I used to go to Creamfields every year, because I love dance music and I like the northern crowds, but recently I’ve gone off it a little because it’s become far too commercial and they’ve started booking the too-famous-for-their-own-good type of DJs, leaving many genuinely talented but less renowned ones off the bill. As a result, people with no real knowledge or liking of dance music have started going, which frustrates me, as it used to just attract proper ravers. I stopped going a couple of years ago, not only because the music and crowd changed, but also because I got fed up of the rain and mud! Having said that, I’m thinking of giving it another shot this year, as the line-up on the Sunday is pretty immense.

It was a fun event. I’m more into UMF and MMW, but the lineup was still great. My biggest letdown was the sound. It could have been much better. Knife Party was drowned out by someone else’s bass coming from a different tent! Epic fail. The food was also really gross. Seriously. The fun stuff was looking at all the people having a great time. Definitely alot of PLUR going on.

For a lifelong EDM fan — this is one festival you must experience. The crowd is a lot different than any in California. Pros: — Hookah tent! — Music/sound systems were excellent — Fun Cons: — The shuttle service to get to the venue was crap. It was suppose to come around every hour but my friends and I waited for almost 4 hours before one showed up. So we missed some DJ’s. — If you don’t do well in the rain or cold — stay home. Creamsfield is a CREAMYFIELD! I lost a pair of shoes to the mud after this event but it was well worth the memories. P. S. Get yourself some wellies if you plan to go!

I completely underestimated the nature of Creamfields music festival — it was literally the most muddiest experience of my life. However, nobody explained to me that it would be miles and more miles of endless fields that are muddy and slippery from it raining all day in Liverpool. So bring your boots, and pack an extra bag of clean clothes to leave with. That being said, this festival is not for the weak of heart, but it is well worth it. On the other hand, you get the benefit of a festival that is the LOUDEST, most intense laser shows, crazy crowd and most amazing artists all together in one place, going hard until 4AM in the morning! …it’s pretty mindblowing. There were a lot of overlapping sets(gotta say I loved seeing Above & Beyond for the 10th time). Unfortunately it rained out the second day, and they issued out refunds, but we still got to have a great time just spending the day with everyone else that camped out for the festival. Not sure if I could go back again, it’ll take a lot out of you. Word of advice — spend the extra $$ and get the Podpads that are offered, it’s worth it: it was the only thing that guaranteed not being evacuated on the second day and since our flight wasn’t for another day, that would’ve been horrible
