New ownership, and it shows. Fantastic place. From the reception upon arriving, to the attention at the table, the service is spot on. The staff really made us feel at home. The food was lovely. I had the duck and my bud had the ribeye. Both were prepared to perfection and were tender. They brew their own beer, and it showed. Very good. Ignore the previous poor ratings. This restaurant is very good.

I haven’t actually been to my booking yet at the boot inn, but purchased a groupon for a meal there. I believe it may well be quite different now to the previous review 2 and a half years ago so thought i’d buy it for a meal out with the husband. Anyway, it is requested that you book your table online now(unless you have a large group or time that is not on their list, in which case they will deal with it on the phone), and I have just found this to be a rediculous system. I couldnt book a table for 2 at 7.30, you have to scroll through the list of available tables and times available, NO options other than what they give you, and a method which requires you to keep clicking at tables and times until you actually find one. To top it off, you HAVE to pay a deposit for your table via paypal else you cant book. your deposit is taken off your bill or refunded in full on arrival apparently, but this absolutely disgusted me. I cannot believe that they find this successful, and i can guarantee that i will not return to this place even if i receive an excellent meal and service when i actually go. Furious.

Just off the island in Repton, on the road to Milton is the Boot Inn. The car park is quite small, so be aware it only has space for about eight cars. First impressions were favourable, the two sides of the pub had two distinctly different styles. The lounge area was very much like a classic country pub, the bar side was more contemporary: very modern and stylish décor, with large rafia seats and tables, with a pool table at the back. Plumping for the bar area, we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff. The menu whilst not huge, had a good range of familiar favourites. I plumped for the chilli, but was told they did not have it, nor did they have my second choice — not a great start to the meal. The food when it arrived was of a reasonable quality, but some of the food was undercooked. The food was quite well priced and the setting was fairly relaxing, I just hope the food will be better if we return.
