Great pub. A favourite of mine and not just because it’s dead close to the train station. Always come here. Good selection of beers, ales(many are brewed in the onsite brewery), keg, craft and bottles plus a good selection of real ciders. Decent menus but the cobs are a fair price. Proper pub, built for chatting. Gets pretty busy on match days. Ale is usually superb.

A lovely old pub. A Derby legend in drinking circles. I expected to enjoy the beers, that was obvious. What I didn’t expect was to find such good honest food, at such a cheap price. Went for Graham’s Ch Ch Ch, which was chips with chilli and some Stilton on top. Really tasty. at a reasonable price. Many rooms as well as beers to choose from! Drink too much and you might get lost. Cannot remember all the beers I had here, but I do remember Caskablanca(Pour It Again Sam)! They brew their own beer.

Microbrewery out back, business in the bar. Great selection of ales. Proper old style pub with nooks and crannies. Marvellous!

This is a fabulous pub that brews its own real ale and serves food too. I spent a great hour or so in here as part of a crawl one day. Will visit again when next in Derby. Well worth a visit to anyone that loves ale and traditional style pubs.

This is a great pub located nice and conveniently to the train station. A good old fashioned pub with real ale and lots of nooks and crannies of rooms. I had a fabulous chicken and stilton homemade pie on our last visit which was accompanied by excellent chips.

Well worth the walk as located slightly out of town, near the railway station. Great selection of beers, of varying strengths and prices, has its own brewery at the back. Also does old rosy cider and snacks from Sound bites in Derby. Building is wonderful — lots of little rooms, lots of character. Staff have always been good.

Quality pub, beer, etc, but I wonder if it is getting too big? Too much going on? There are so many nooks and crannies, which give it character, but I don’t know why, I’m going off it. I shall still go in, as the choice and range of beers is superb, but it’s also becoming pricier.

This pub is a great pub for those wanting to sample real ale in a proper pub atmosphere. It is pretty traditional inside and there are a variety of different rooms where you can settle down for the evening — lounge, bar, the snug. It is located near the railway station, just outside the limits of the city centre, so can be a bit of a pain if you don’t fancy the walk. For those willing to venture out of the city centre, it is well worth it. There is a good selection of real ale, some brewed by the Brunswick Brewery. This would make a great place to start on a real ale trail of Derby.

Fantastic pub with a really nice atmosphere. Traditional old building near Derby’s railway station, located a short walk from the city centre. There are various rooms available in the pub depending on whether you want to sit near the busy bar or in a seperate quieter lounge with open fire. Great real ales are available in what is probably one of the best real ale pubs in Derby.

It has a warm cosy feel to it, which is reflected in the staff. they are always cheerful and willing to serve/help the best way they can. It also serves real ale, making it popular with critics and pub-goers alike.

The Brunswick Inn is part of an old railway community that was build in Britain over 150 years ago. The building was comprised within a unit of houses and shops that were designed to house the railway men. I went to this place last year because historic and nostalgic places are of interest to me. The pub itself has been regenerated for less that 30 years, to the best of my knowledge it is Derby’s oldest running brewery. The pub itself is a lot bigger on the inside than it looks, there are several rooms each serving a different purpose. There is an amazing lounge that is definitely designed towards the families, there is a massive authentic bar and a very warm atmosphere, there is also a beer garden that is ideal in the summer. The food here is typically British and home cooked in the pub, idea for a Sunday lunch. This place is renowned for its real ale, if you like your ale this is a place you must try, people come from miles around for a good drink.
