Rather peculiar little pub in the city centre of Derby. No real ales(as of 2014), but karaōke in the evening. This is a rather smallish pub in Derby, a teensy bit grubby, a bit rough — if they were serving real ales they’d certainly make the CAMRA Good Beer Guide(grubbiness being a must). Sadly, they don’t. Instead, you get the ordinary selection of lagers, plus mostly bland British beers like Worthington’s Bitter(not the wonderful White Shield, alas!) and John Smith’s. Nothing to write home about. When I visited there was also a rather eccentric motley assortment of people in leather garb present, and they started the karaōke at about 6 p.m.(on a weeknight). I had a couple of pints, then left. Staff are friendly though. There are so many fine real ale pubs in central Derby(The Flower Pot and The Silk Mill come easily to mind). No reason, then, to hang out here except for special customers.
