The Seven Wells is a country pub on the outskirts of the village of Etwall. It has a spacious and well set out off-road car park, and good variety of outside seating. Be aware though unless you’ve had your three Weetabix that morning, don’t try and move the chairs, they are seriously weighty. The Seven Wells is a substantial sized pub that is set out primarily for dining, but there are areas to just have a drink. There are many nooks and crannies, and a variety of different types of seating, to make the Seven Wells slightly removed from the generic pub chain eateries. Old beams and various parts of agricultural machinery adorn virtually every part of the building. It has a great feeling of space, the tables are wide and you never feel crammed in, all adding the feeling of relaxation. The menu at the Seven Wells is a comprehensive one, but all pretty much standard dishes you would expect in any large pub steaks, salads, pasta, curries, roasts etc. There’s also a good range of starters and light snacks like sandwiches and wraps. A good choice of desserts for the ice cream lover too, and as with all the other courses there are daily specials on a board. The food has no pretentions to be fancy, it is just good hearty food at a very reasonable price. They also have a deal on all day Monday-Friday and until 6.30pm on Saturday of two meals for £9, from a reduced list of dishes. Wednesday is curry night, with quite an impressive range of dishes, including many different vegetarian dishes.

Been to the Seven Wells on several occasions and have always been very pleased with the wares and the level of service. It has been refurbished again at the start of 2011 even though it’s not that old. It is quite well laid out now with lots of little nooks to sit and eat and dine in. The food menu is good and the portions are a plenty. A great place to sit outside in the better weather.
