Evans, the plus size specialist(or ‘The Fat Shop’ if you don’t like to mince your words) moved to this unit from their previous little corner plot a couple of years ago, and the new shop is quite a good size. They have a large stock of clothes, shoes, underwear and accessories in sizes 16 – 30. This is great for those of us who can’t quite squeeze into just about anything TopShop sell, and Evans do have almost a monopoly in fashion for us larger ladies. The down side is that they don’t do it very well. They are too keen to follow fashion, whether or not it is flattering to the fuller figure. They also charge waaaaaay over the odds for the priveledge of having a couple of extra inches of fabric on your clothes, while selling stuff that’s on a par quality-wise with New Look. Their shoes are a godsend to people with broad feet, and if you struggle to get boots to fasten up the calf then Evans is worth a try. Look out for the sales, as they bring things down to the sort of prices that the stuff is worth in the first place.
