The Gary Cooper

visited on a tuesday night and was very busy when i walked in but found a table we had the steak club which was excellent, the service was quick so not sure if there is new management now? but my wife and i had a really nice meal and desserts, will definatly be going back

cheap drinks and food good and in expensive have had 2 wait a while sumtimes 2 get served but good food and drink at good prices thumbs up.

First things first. This is a Wetherspoon so expect a uniform menu and price range to any other Wetherspoon-​owned pub. The atmosphere is hip and fun, though definitely not very cozy which is why it loses a star there. Also because the wi-​fi was extremely dodgy so I gave up on it. Those complaints aside, the food was cheap and good (curry and a beer for less than 5 pounds)! Great selection of drinks too.
There’s a statue of Gary Cooper atop a horse near the stairs. I found it pretty amusing that apparently the Hollywood star went to grammar school right there in Dunstable.
Overall, affordable and pleasant stop if you’re in Dunstable and want some tasty food and refreshing drink without breaking the bank.

This is an ok place to go, meet up with friends for a chat and have a few drinks but nothing special. Could do with a bit more chairs and tables outside in the summer time as it would be lovely to just sit and relax. The toilets are a bit inconvinient when you’ve had one too many glasses of red. You really have to watch your steps when wearing your killer heels.

The Gary Cooper is in a nice location and has a good view of the local park however this seems to be the only good thing i have to say. The food is cheap but in my oppinion is below the normal standards of wetherspoons food.
i would also like to point out that the toilets are upstairs and have horrible curvey stairs which are not good without drinking so i can’t imagine they are great after a few.

Whetherspoons has invaded Dunstable but the Gary Cooper hasn’t been the roaring success that was predicted.
As you come to expect with Whetherspoons pubs, they’re tidy and visually appealing with amazingly low prices.
The food and hygiene are both quite poor as tends to be the case with new chain pubs. Staffing has also yet to be perfected.
Nights out at the Gary Cooper are a bit of a waste of time. The place is always packed with this seeming the favourite hang-​out of many of the town’s troublesome drinkers, looking to get drunk cheaply. There is very little atmosphere due to this, the relative lack of a dance floor and poor music played in the evenings.
There’s a large variety of pubs in the town, the Gary Cooper could be considered the poor man’s alternative to most.
