2-course lunch menu £10. Ok why not, it’s Friday after all. The calamari with garlic mayo was as tasty as expected. Not too oily and served with a slice of lemon. The breaded cod and chips however…3 fish fingers and a little chip portion? They must’ve thought I was eating like a pigeon… That being said the environment is extremely comfy with the food displays, armchairs bars and overall shed/pantry look. I’d happily have a 3hr girly catch-up session over hot chocolate. LOVEIT!

An updated review. I liked Bills more this time. I had some olives and calamari. The green olives were spookily enormous, like they had been sourced from Chernobyl. Very tasty and given the size quite filling. The calamari was, you know, ok but no more than that. I had sea bass on a bed of sweet potato mash and a nice rasher of bacon. It was nice and at £13.50 not hugely expensive for sea bass. I got carried away and had cheese afterwards. Not the best cheeseboard but acceptable. It was all fine, but I don’t really feel like rushing back to Bills. Overall, it seems quite pricey.

Probably our favorite restaurant during our London trip. The food was great, slightly more expensive than others, and service was the best. The rustic décor and the mood lighting definitely made dinner more special.

Bill’s is now where the old Tuck Cho used to be — we were interested in trying Bill’s and were intrigued by the branding and nice décor. As we walked in, we really enjoyed seeing the different seating areas and admired the cool décor — from the funny big pom poms to the nice candles on the tables to the hanging dried chillies. I liked the menu and was deciding between the burger, the ribs and the lime crusted salmon. My cousin is wheat– and dairy-free so was left with only the steak option, and then they informed her that they were out of rump steak. Her rib eye was fantastic, as were her sweet potato fries, but at a price. Her husband had the burger which he said was good. I enjoyed the salmon but was surprised that the noodles were served cold. I also had the house Bill’s Beer brewed especially for Bills restaurants, but it had a bit of an interesting finish and didn’t go great with the salmon although I had asked about it ahead of time. I really liked the ambiance and decorations, but the service and options were a bit limiting. The beers were served slowly but the food luckily came quickly. The burger’s pot of chips were knocked over by the server when putting them down. The service was ok but not great, the prices were a bit high for the portion sizes, and generally the place was good but didn’t blow us away.
