Lidl is the slightly cheaper version of Aldi, although Lidl has the advantage of its own ‘in-house bakery’ which is nothing much more than the ovens you see cooking bread in Subway, but still it smells good and you can buy fresh bread all day long. There’s a good selection of fruit and veg, biscuits and chocolate(top quality German stuff at low low prices), drinks, beers, wines, fresh meat from Scottish farms, toiletries, doge food and pretty much everything you could want, just fit into a much smaller space than a monstrous supermarket — and much cheaper. Just remember to bring your own bags.
