A nice place to come when it’s slashing it down with rain when I’m a walk around Hampton Court. The food is pricey but quite nice(Sunday roast £20) for this price I expected better veg with my meal small bit of broccoli and frozen peas not really good enough. Good beer selection but again quite pricey. I would come back but only if someone else was paying.

The jury is still out on this pub. The faithful old boozer was recently given a massive overhaul and refurbishment. Out went the 70’s beer soaked brown carpet and nicotine stained chairs(I think I may have been responsible for some of this, sorry guys), and in came wood stripped floors, leather sofas and extensive wine list. So has it worked in bringing back the Molesey faithful? We had been a bit squeezed out by the Reebok classics crew, and the onus has been on creating a ‘sophisticated vibe’ with the new look. I hope I fall into the sophisticated category, but not one of my friends would agree. Personally, I still feel that it needs to find its feet. I have eaten here a couple of times with the new menu, and have not been very impressed. I hope in the future they will start doing fresh, homemade food rather than brought in fare. The wine list has also been given a make over, and you can get a pretty good bottle of Sancerre or Chablis for about £16.00. Having said that I asked a barman for a similar wine to these two and he looked confused and pulled out a bottle of red, so perhaps they need a bit more work on the wine knowledge. On the plus side there is a large outdoor seating area, which is great in the summer, and everyone seems to be having a good time here. What would make this pub better? Bringing back the karaōke of course! Then I can sing Maggie May again. Oh wait, they are going for the sophisticated look. I guess that’ll be a no then
