It has nothing to do with Belgian quality wine was too warm, very small mussels and limp fries. French English speaking students as staff so even one star is too much. Unilocal gave here five stars and that tells something about Unilocal

Big restaurant, friendly service and mm, mm, mussels. We went with the Red Thai Curry, which was a fragrant, flavorful treat. We also ordered the Belgian — belgian beer, lemon, and coriander for a straightforward, more traditional taste. There’s a large selection of beer, wine and cocktails, as well as mocktails for the non-drinkers and kids. Speaking of kids, there is a kids menu with standard fare — pasta, chicken nuggets, pizza — but there are plenty of non-controversial options on the menu. We went with grilled chicken and chips, which was plenty for two kids to share. You could also choose from jacket potatoes, burgers and hot dogs from the adult menu. It was a great dinner for our first night in Eastbourne. Also — it was a Sunday night so the M-F opening hours appear to be wrong at the moment.

The Belgian Café is absolutely superb, enjoyed an excellent meal. Staff were polite and professional, food served promptly and to a very high degree. Probably only worth going if you’re fan of mussels, but if you’re looking to try them, one of the fifty varieties is sure to suit you. Flavours range from Thai curry to simpler vegetable stocks, or the experimental, such as Japanese. The range of beers will also suit any taste, from excellent Trappist beers and dark ales to the lighter fruit beers. Certainly warranting a visit.

TIN-TIN themed! =) Over looks the seafront, on a hot summers days, ain’t nothing better than there assortments of fruit beers and cocktails to cool you down. I personally don’t drink beer, but was persuaded to by my friend, we both ordered coconut and strawberry beer. Pretty good. 50 ways to eat mussels! TANTALISING… a big pot, fresh bread, chips and mayonnaise with the order. Great Service. Friendly from start to finish. Great atmosphere. Well polished surrounding. Recommended indeed.

Lovely Belgium styled restaurant that specialise in mussels, belgian beer and Tin Tin! Excellent quality of food at a reasonable price, good service and seemiyngly busy all year round(good sign!). Definately a good place to go for something a bit different — dont be put off if not keen on mussels, the menu has a lot of other things on it. Id recommend the sausage(must have been about a foot long!) and mash. Good atmosphere, not for a romantic meal but more for a group of people.
