Ugh. Satyam. Why did you let me down? I was looking forward to a good lunch at Satyam when a girlfriend invited me to join her along with our mothers in law. We arrived to Satyam, which I have been to once(and didn’t remember, unfortunately, that I didn’t enjoy it) and were seated promptly. The restaurant was empty and there was one server who took our order and assisted us while we were there. The food, oh the food. It was… not good. 30 pounds for a tasteless Bombay sandwich and chips, a paneer wrap(which was more of a thick flatbread impossible to wrap stuffed with sweet paneer — WHY was it so sweet?!) and two thalis(whose contents were disappointing, according to my mother in law). I will make this review short and sweet — I can see why Satyam was totally empty. Although their menu looked promising and the food looked good when it arrived, it was tasteless. When it did taste like something, it was wrong. There are no descriptions on the menu so unless you’re familiar with dishes like Mogo Hoho(who is?!), you better ask your server(who will give you chaas when you asked for it not to be included in your thali lunch). Skip Satyam and try any other place for a meal. I will say, however, their shakes and sweets are a better option. Not a place I’ll be returning to. I forgot my earlier disastrous experience when I was just a visitor to London but after eating in, I will make sure I skip it in the future. There is a lot of room for improvement and it would be nice to see this business grow.

You want the truth of why we came here? because we came to Queensbury for a delicious meal at the Regency club next door, but their kitchen was closed… we were starving Satyam looked a bit ‘Ice Cream Shop’ to us, with bright lights, white tile floors and café tables… But the manager?/owner? Was very friendly and helpful and took pride in what they offered. After the initial order, he even told me I had ordered too much(hungry eyes) and suggested less… We had two Veggie Thali plates and a little bit of Punjabi Chat Masala, with a Papaya drink. All of the food was top notch! I enjoyed the variety of the thali, everything was heated nicely and authentic… The Satyam business model is diverse. They are also a coffee bar, and takeaway Indian treats shop! We’ll be back because they are good, but next time we’ll be back at the Regency Club

Awful place! Against my better judgement I got takeaway from here. I had to wait ages to get my order and it was fit for the bin. Not good enough to feed my dogs. Vegetable curry was diced frozen vegetables coated with slime and not edible. Pilau rice had same frozen vegetables with a bit of rice. Dahl was murky dishwater with no lentils or any solids at all. Salad disgusting. Never again. I should have given my money to comic relief and I wouldn’t trust such a place with my health. Substandard food not fit for human consumption. AVOIDLIKETHEPLAGUE!

Horrible food, unprofessional cooking, felt really very bad after eating the food. I think the oil used to cook the food was dirty and cheap. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to any of my known persons. I thought its my moral duty to share my experiences with you.

I recently went there for a traditional Gujarati Sunday breakfast where they serve hot Puris(fried bread), Aloo bhaji(spicy potato curry), Jalebi(sweet dish), Gathia(Fried savoury wafers), Dhokra(steamed savoury cakes) & masala dosa/sambar with fresh chutney and Indian Tea — eat as much as you like –guess how much???£3.49…I think breakfast is served from 10am to 1pm-normally very busy

This is both a restaurant and separate take-away. Prices are very reasonable in both. In the restaurant, you can have a Thali(a complete meal) for £4.99 and that includes a Lassi(indian milkshake)! Has a lunchtime buffet which I’ve yet to try. However everything on their menu is such good value. They do Family Deals(serves 4⁄5 people) for £19.99 — for a meal that includes paneer — that’s incredible.
