Spotted this wee place on a trip round the centre, curiosity got the better of me and I had to try it! Worth trying, feet were lovely and smooth afterwards :-)

I’ve used the Appy Feet Shop in St James Centre 3 times and am really noticing an improvement in my eczema. My only problem with this spa is it’s not very spa-like! There’s nowhere to hang you coats or put your bags, in fact you are directed to just shove them on the floor between the wall and the tanks. The stools are uncomfortable to sit on as there is no back rest. You are totally exposed to gawping shoppers. The cleanliness could be better. Even though you complete a health questionnaire, the staff never read it or do anything with them(in fact, they’re all shoved under the till for filing at some point in the dim and distant future). Here are my solutions:(1) hang some coat racks: total cost about £10 per rack(2) fit removable backrests to the seats: something like the portable seats you use on the beach would be fine(3) start more thoroughly cleaning the place(a legal requirement) and buy a couple of air fresheners(4) stop getting customers to complete the questionnaire or actually use them! Better yet, get the customers to complete the form straight onto a lap top into a database and the filing is instantly done for you(5) provide regular user cards for customers who repeat their business thus removing the requirement to re-complete the(ignored) health questionnaire on every visit. Basically, Appy Feet Management, become more professional in the way you conduct your spa if you wish to remain a viable business

After 5 hours of christmas shopping yesterday, we chanced upon this place at st. james center. So we thought to give it a go and voila!!! It was indeed relaxing for our very tired feet. We were given the coice of 15min or 35min therapy. And we said — 35 mins! We were then asked to take off our shoes and get our feet washed in a shower-like area and were led to our«pods». As we soaked our feet in, the fishies came and started nibbling away… I was grossed out at first thinking that these fishies just ate dead skin from feet… hmmmm… makes you really wanna think twice. The tickly sensation at first brought me to immediate laughter but then you get used to it and it then becomes relaxing. How I wish that there was a backrest, then you could relax more. The stools were not comfy after 10mins but as it is the first time I have done it, I was more curious of the fishies. Also, there was not much privacy as we were«exposed» to the curious shoppers and the person sitting opposite. I would like to try it again on my next weekend’s shopping in town.
