Lynn Fraser, the skills, face, and lovely lady, behind Fantoosh is just an absolute joy to know, work with and be painted by. I’ve had her at two large-scale Unilocal events(the Springtime Spectacular, and the Winterfall Wonderland) and also seen her at other events such as the RBS Museum Lates. No matter what the circumstances, how many people, or how long the event, she always has a smile on her face and continues to amaze with time-after-time unique, gorgeous face art. How she manages to create, on the spot, 100s of face art paintings in one evening, each one quite different to the last, an incorporating quirks for each different person(I loved Susan D’s ‘Hula’ sign for Hula) I’ll never know. Her face art painting is exquisite. Absolute stunning. It takes face art to a whole new level, and beyond what you maybe remember from childhood. It can be fun, classy and sophisticated. I’d recommend her for any type of party if you want to add a bit of fun and sparkle. But it’s not just her magic painting skills that make Fantoosh so wonderful. It’s Lynn herself. She’s an absolute joy to know, work with and have at an event. She’s constantly smiling, constantly bubbly, and has brilliant banter with everyone she paints. Secretly I wish face art were ok to wear on a daily basis, and Lynn and I were neighbours, so I could visit her every morning to get a new face art painted depending on the day and my mood. But they’re not, and she’s not. So I’ll have to settle for the next big Unilocal event I throw, or the next Museum Lates. One piece of advice: if you see Fantoosh advertised at an event, get there EARLY. She has a queue from the moment the doors open till long after the event is over.
