If I had more time on my hands I be happy tucking myself into this cosy café for a good chunk of my day. I always have an Earl Grey here without a doubt as it comes in cute tea pots and in leaf form, so the flavours can brew making the cuppa tasty as the cups go on! The smells of soup as you walk in the door is always a warm cosy feeling on a damp dreiry day and it smells so good. I’m defo going to have to take some time out and try a big bowl full before the summer comes. Cakes are a plenty and there is a gluten free and dairy free option — oh la la! You can also get samdwiches and panini’s too. The teashop is in the middle of hairdressers and a gift shop(seperated by doors and walls) — so you can treat yourself to a hair cut or a gift after a top of tea and cake!

Union of Genius soup and fresh bread. Can’t get much better than that. The bread had been baked in house that morning, I asked what the secret ingredient was and was told by the lovely lady who served us that it was courgette; it keeps it nice and moist, and very tasty too. We accidentally found this place while walking towards Stockbridge and decided to pop in for lunch, We loved it. Ideal place if you are or work in the area looking for somewhere to get some lunch or a bit of afternoon tea. I’m going back soon to try the cakes.

Ok, first of all, if you are looking for this place, it sits within a blue building labelled Gorgeous. Gorgeous is a shop and therapy centre and Hanna Cherries sits within it. It appears pretty busy with lots of people coming and going into different therapy rooms. Just as well the traffic isn’t mirrored by demand for tables, at it is small and there are about 4 or 5 tables here. As part of feeding my ongoing cake habit and my need to sniff out anywhere that does GF cake, I headed down to Stockbridge at the weekend. Hanna Cherries prides itself in natural ingredients so many of their offerings can be suitable for vegan and/or gluten free diets. For coffee addicts, this probably isn’t the best place for you as only filter coffee is available. A wide range of teas are available as well as hot chocolates and juices. A limited sandwich menu is offered as are soups from Union of Genius. I got a sandwich which for me was basic but this place gets 4* for the cakes. There was a fab range if cakes for vegan and gluten free diets and there were also dairy free options. The carrot and orange cake I had was a decent size wedge and was lovely. I was also tempted by the coffee and walnut and it did take a bit of uhmming and ahh-ing before I finally decided. The interior is lovely — lemon walls, mismatched furniture and also a book exchange if you want to relax with some reading. The service was great too — asked a couple of times if everything was ok but we were left alone to chat without constant interruptions. So, I’ll definitely return. I will be back for cake in a heartbeat — home made, great options and gf choices so just fab :-)
