The flat I just moved into has a balcony. A real-​life, bona fide balcony. Now what, I ask, is more enjoyable than sharing a bottle of wine and watching the sunset on a balcony? Blackburn winning the league? Well, yeah, but that won’t happen again. So wine it is.
My first impression of Henderson Wines: wow. Well stocked would be a huge understatement. The blackboard in the window tells me they currently have over 180 different wines in stock. According to the guy inside it’s usually more like 250. He was really friendly, and extremely knowledgeable.
I ended up leaving with a 2005 bottle of Rioja. At £8 it wasn’t cheap, but you get what you pay for I suppose. They also have an impressive selection of beers (around 100 different ones) and about 50 malts. It is on the pricey side, so save it for a special occasion. Like Blackburn winning the league.
