This place was a life saver. I am here for the festival and needed a place that could do a twenty four hour turn around for dry cleaning AND shortening a pair of pants. I called in the morning to make sure the two suits I gave them would be ready. There was a half hour delay because they had an issue with one of the machines. No big deal. When I arrived for pick-up, not only did they do a great job, they returned $ 120 that one of our actors had left in the pockets! They offered to sew a button back on for free when they noticed it was missing. I didn’t have time but very much appreciated the offer. Express service. Honesty. Going above and beyond. What else can you ask for?

Wow. Where to start with this place… Ok. So here’s my experience at this business recently. I stopped in to have a dress shirt ironed for an upcoming event. I was quoted £2.65 for a shirt ironing. Considering that it is cheaper than purchasing an iron that will likely be used only once or twice before I move back home, it was a price I could live with. I opted for the one hour drop off. By Edinburgh standards this is lightning fast so I was elated to hear that they offered this service. And just like planned, one hour later I was back, waiting for someone to come to the counter and get my shirt –which I could see from the counter. However, the woman in front of me was having a major problem with this place as they had apparently lost her scarf. She was fuming mad, yelling at the shop manager and asking how they could’ve lost an item after only two days of having it. Eventually, the scarf was found and everything was alright. Sort of. Then, the shop manager decides to charge the woman the cleaning fee for a coat instead of a jacket. This was £2 pounds more. So, without an apology for losing a customer’s item(albeit temporarily), she was now charging MORE for an item that(in the customer’s view at least) looked more like a jacket than a coat. Wow. So as the other woman grudgingly paid the extra price as she shook her head in disbelief, I couldn’t help but feel for her and wonder if this place was worth coming back to. When it was my turn to pay, I was told I couldn’t use my Visa debit for such a small amount. I only had £2.40 on me at that moment, but the shop manager let me short-change her and told me it was fine. That was very nice of her to help me out. So, yeah. Interesting experience for me at this dry cleaners. I was personally taken care of quite well, but I did witness a problem with another customer. I think that this place may be hit-or-miss at the end of the day. I would likely come back to this place, however not without knowing that they do occasionally have some issues. So for now, I’m going with 4-stars.

Excellent customer service and attention to detail. When I realized a shirt and pair of trousers of mine had gone missing, I stopped by to see if somehow they had been left at Kleen Cleaners. The woman I dealt with — with only my last name & description of the items to go on — patiently sorted through two weeks of ledgers until she tracked down the missing order. It would have been just as easy for her not to bother, but she was incredibly kind and gracious. Top marks!

I won a voucher for cleaning there, so I went to see about my winter coat and there were room for a shawl too. As it happened I also brought a shirt. At first I only brought the coat, so when I came back with the other pieces picking up the coat, I obviously confused the place… a lot… Got my coat and it hadn’t been de-fluffed though I was told it was. But they fixed it and usually it would have cost me extra, so very happy about that. Shawl I was warned could come back with holes once cleaned, but luckily it didn’t — and why would it indeed have? It had none going in. Finally my less than white shirt came back white enough for another few wears, so for a «pink» shirt the cost was well worth it. I’d go again, but be more careful about my receipts and not confuse them, as I spent far too long in the shop over 3 visits necessary.

I arrived in the afternoon of the last Saturday of the Fringe Festival to attend a wedding on Monday only to discover that my silk dress was hopelessly rumpled in my suitcase. Not wanting to risk ironing it, I frantically searched for a dry cleaners. I brought the dress into Kleen Cleaners and explained. Unfortunately, they are closed on Sundays, and the wedding is at 10am on Monday! The owner immediately said, «can you wait a few minutes? I’ll just press it now. A wedding is much more important!» And five minutes later, my dress safely in hand and looking beautiful, I was set! She refused to charge extra for the rush job, although I was more than willing to pay it. Short version? Any business that considers the things most important to their clients like that is going to do well.

I hadn’t heard good things about Kleen Cleaners but I desperately need a jacket cleaned. I was nervous about going here but, based on my need and it’s convenient location, I decided to give it a go anyway. When I walked in, the place wreaked of stale cigarette smoke. The whole reason I wanted to come here was for the jacket to be cleaned and smell nice! I ended up leaving and will have to find somewhere else.
