I really dislike having to update reviews, retracting previous positive statements about a business, but honestly what choice do I have? Alright so here’s the deal. After spending £250.00 and waiting over a month to receive my Swiss watch(which uses a common Valjoux 7750 movement) back, the watch started having problems again. The date and day would change at the completely wrong time during the day, nowhere close to midnight or even early after. I brought the watch back to have their watchmaker take a look at it and was told that it would take around 10 days. Fine. I’ve been through this before and understand that things can take a while to look at and repair. After about 12 days, I decide to call since no one has called me back yet. The lady on the phone told me that the watch was ready. Great news right? Well, not so much. What occurred next really put me over the top with this business. Upon arrival, the ladies in front of the store tell me that my watch is ready and that the watchmaker didn’t have to open it –that it was working properly. …Really? Well, obviously a bit skeptical about this claim, I decide to re-explain to them what I was referring to when I mentioned the date and day changing at the wrong time. I showed them as a demonstration by pulling the crown out and showing them that the date changes at the wrong time. Neither of them understood what I was saying. Alright. So next the lady(the one I dealt with before) tells me that I should just«see what happens» and if it remains«fixed». I ask again why the watchmaker didn’t at least open it and she claimed that he didn’t need to. Fine. No less than 8 hours later, the date and day SHOULD have been changing, but of course was not –a fact that I knew was going to happen. So, I call again the next day and the woman on the phone tells me that I should have explained that I «needed» the watch to be opened and looked at. Well, what else would I expect a watchmaker to do? Unbelievable. These people took me for a ride for sure, charging me what they did and not standing behind their work. Disgusting. And trying to suggest to me that somehow I didn’t properly explain what I wanted them to do when I more than once explained slowly and accurately what I needed them to do. Never again. They did not deal with me in good faith. They held my watch in a back room and did NOTHING to it. They led me to believe that it was fixed. Now, I’m not even sure they did anything to it the first time. That’s how little confidence I have in them at this point. Be careful with these people. The ladies know NOTHING about watches, and their watchmaker is questionable –if he even is a real watchmaker(I don’t know because I never saw him once). The people running this business are at best incompetent and at worst, dishonest.
