Rock Dogs and rocking hot dogs. With their stealthy, portable hot dog stand you’ll find them on Middle Meadow Walk, wafting the alluring scent of sizzling sausages across the grass. And on a Saturday night you’ll find them outside Brew Dog offering meaty goodness to go with your pints. The concept is simple: freshly grilled hot dogs, served with onions and toppings on a nice soft bun. The difference is the fact the sausages are the highest quality(I think they get them from Crombie’s) and they’re always inventing new flavours, some with beers from Brew Dog. I can’t remember specifics, but in passing I’ve seen hot dog toppings like haggis, and even a ‘Sunday Roast’ hot dog(not quite sure what that involved!) The hot dogs are around £3.50 each(although prices vary depending on the ‘dog) and are a nice wee feed. Not overly filling, in fact I could probably eat two because they’re delicious and I have a big appetite. The only thing that makes me sad is sometimes when I walk down Middle Meadow Walk and I want a hot dog, they’re not there. Such is the nature of street food and food stands — they come and go like the wind. So my own request is that they post their week /day’s hours on their Facebook page, so I know where to get my Rock Dog fix!
