Stationery Express

My pen leaked all over my bag, notebook and camera when I was out scouting today. It’s enough to totally ruin your day (and camera). Irritated but undeterred, I needed a new pen, and notebook. The camera survived, thankfully.
As it happened, I was standing outside Stationary Express at the bottom of Morningside Road just at I discovered the aforementioned unfortunate incident. Result, I thought. Well, in a way it was a result. Let’s call it a 0 – 0 draw against a mediocre team. The sort of result that leaves you a bit disappointed but, hey, you didn’t lose.
There’s a good selection here, and the woman who runs the places is very friendly. But, my goodness, it’s expensive. £6 for a packet of Bic pens?! 35p for a single biro (you know, the 10p sort). I know independent businesses need to charge a bit more, but this just seemed a bit excessive. So I suppose I did lose. On penalties.
