Subway is like that slapper friend of yours that you love to death, but don’t like to admit to anyone that you’re actually friends with.

Subway is dark, cheap, and you will leave with loads of drink spilled all over you. Damn this place is fun.

Subway, West End provides a cheap night out depending what you are after! I used to go here sometimes because I enjoyed the cheesy music after a few drinks! They play all the old classics that get you on the dance floor. The drinks are cheap if you choose the promotions. There is a big dance floor and there are two bars which is useful. There are quite a few places to sit but these fill up quickly especially on a weekend. It is a basic nightclub but clean enough I suppose. It has a sister club in Cowgate in the grassmarket

This has to be one of the worst places I have ever been for a drink.
I have nothing against the staff there who were very professional and friendly, it was the pub goers that were actually drinking there. Seems like the cheap drinks offers attract a right motely crew.
Loud and leery females and mohican haired neds were rife in this place. You can guarantee a scrap here most weekends.
Hated the whole 20 mins I endured.

Upon my arrival in Edinburgh some blokes I was dossing with convinced me Subway West End was the place to go. Sure, it is, for cheap drinks (£1 til midnight). Little did I know that this offer was central to the club’s pulling power, as you would have to be that smashed to actually enjoy yourself.
This is the premise Subway operates on, as no effort goes into anything else. No style or décor here, nor any sort of decent bar service or ‘DJ’.
But if you want to get slaughtered and pick up, Subway’s your place. It’s this place that made me question my move to Edinburgh — ‘what have I done’ sorta style.

I dont think subway is one of Edinburgh’s up market clubs but it does provide a good night out.
Its cheap to get in and they do good promotions such as if you pay full price to get in before midnight they give you all your drinks for a pound for the whole night!
The music is quite good and varies from dance, to hip hop, R n B, pop and some old cheese!
I wouldn’t recommend this club for older club goers its more of a late teens/​early twentys person type club.
Its not the best looking club but its clean and its always good fun!

I dont think Edinburgh has a great choice of clubs but I feel with Subway what you see is what you get. If you are looking for a simple, fairly cheap and cheerful night with some cheesy pop and a dance then this is the place for you.
The good thing about this club is that there is plenty of space to dance and for the size of club that this is, the bar is fairly long which really makes the difference when its busy.
There are also regular drink promos which can make for a very cheap night and the toilets are pretty clean for a nightclub!
Basically this is not a place of sophistication but it is a nice place to go if you are looking for no frills fun.
