Sweet Eca

This venue is the larger of Sweet’s festival operation (don’t look for it any other time of the year, it won’t be there), and so houses their more ambitious shows. You can expect to find a couple of real gems, but you have to hunt for them.
Generally, more than half of shows during the Edinburgh festival tend to be dross, or go completely without recognition. But spare a thought for the struggling artists who pay to rent these venues and perform day after day to audiences that average to containing four people. One of which works there.
