As we all know in Edinburgh, and as I’ve mentioned many a time before, every space that could possibly fit 15 people or less becomes a venue in Edinburgh during the festival. This is one of them. And it’s possibly one of my least favourite(so far). I went there for the first time last week to photograph a play called Love Bites(I won’t go on a rant about how awful this play was, but I will tell you this much and I’m sure it’ll put you off seeing it: there’s rape with a sausage). The space was cramped and cold, and way too intimate for my liking. The lighting was inoffensive, but I guess considering it’s probably not the kind of place that is used to putting a show on, there’s not much more you could expect from it. Then again, there’s something charming about being able to turn anything into a venue. If only the space didn’t make me feel like kittens went there to die.
