The Man has good taste(as evident in his choice of bride… but that’s neither here nor there when it comes to home furnishings…). So, when he told me that he’d seen a nice piece of furniture which could fit in our bathroom, I went along to check it out. Time & Tide is a little store with something of a beachy feel to it(which I guess explains the name); it has a lot of attractive white furniture and wicker baskets, along with various home related nick-nacks(knick-knacks?) and decorations. It also smells nice, which is certainly a plus. We found a cabinet which would not only fit perfectly(both spatially and style-wise) in our bathroom, it was on sale. More than this, it didn’t feel as though it was going to fall apart. We have been hunting for bathroom furniture for months, and everything we’ve found has threatened to fall to pieces if you put so much as a towel on it, so we were very pleased that we managed the perfect and elusive combination of attractive, wooden, solidly built, and reasonably priced. We could hardly NOT buy it. In fact, The Man wanted to keep buying but I had to pursuade him that there’s only so much furniture that will fit in our bathroom. In addition to being pleased with our find, the woman who helped us was lovely. She showed us the full catalogue of what they carry(saying they would be able to order something in), she also explained that they deliver for free within Edinburgh. In fact, she even threw in a scented candle and Christmas star decoration which had been stored in the cabinet we purchased, as they were slightly damaged and couldn’t be sold. I was SO happy to have visted Time & Tide and now just need to find places for the rest of the furniture they carry …
