I too like to support independent shops, but have had a couple of bad experiences with Best Feet First. Most recently we purchased a pair of shoes for my 10 year old and when he got home he wore them round the house for 5 minutes and complained that they hurt his feet. Took the shoes back to Best Feet First, still in immaculate condition but they refused a refund. I was so incensed that I have reported them to trading standards clearly the shoes were not fitted with reasonable care and skill.

This shop is buried away inside Eagle Walk next to Argos. When I went in no one asked me what I wanted, in fact I had to ask if they spoke English.!! I bit of customer training would not go amiss?

I like to support local independent shops so thought I’d try this for my daughters school shoes. The initial experience was good. However she developed blisters after a couple of days wear so I returned to the shop. The first time a went back they had closed up 10 minutes early so I had to return the following day. Sadly I got little in the way of customer service and was told she should have worn them in around the house and it was just hard leather! I don’t really think this is acceptable when you’ve talking about a 5 year olds feet. Interestingly another customer as returning shoes at the very same time for the same reason and have since heard at least 4 other similar stories. I wrote to the manager to complain but have not even had the courtesy of a response. Needless to say I won’t be returning and certainly can’t recommend them.
