The Haywain is part of a chain offering pubs, often with accommodation attached.
As it’s close-​ish to Epsom General Hospital, I’ve been here a few times with co-​workers from the hospital. If we just want a drink after work, we tend to go to one of the closer pubs like the White Horse or the Amato. However, the Haywain offers cheap deals for Christmas meals and usually some departments from the hospital end up here for convenience and price.
The pub is quite nicely decorated in a corporate fashion with a reasonable range of drink. The food for the dinners has been edible but nothing special. One year, someone had a bowl of soup spilt over them but it was just an accident.
To be honest, I’m not really sure who makes use of the motel part. It’s not the prettiest part of town.
