I needed a quick hair cut before heading home for Christmas to appease the mothership, lest I hear for two weeks about rats tails. I’m a big fan of the booking website Wahanda, and I had just been emailed a £10 voucher for any spend over £25 when I saw a deal at Nino Milano for a style cut and blow dry with treatment for £25 instead of the usual £40. Fate I tell you! I booked in for an appointment the next day and was greeted by a lovely stylist(can’t remember his name unfortunately!). The interior isn’t perhaps as flashy as some city centre salons, but I got exactly the cut that I asked for(I’m exceptionally fussy with my hair) without the usual«are you sure you don’t just want some layers?» chat. A nice cup of coffee and a mince pie definitely rounded things off too. And not to forget that as I was leaving, I was given a £10 gift card for colour services, not sure if I’ll use it, but lovely touch at this time of year.

I have been coming to Nino’s for over 15 years, I have long thick red hair. I have tried others in that time, mainly because Nino Milano run a relaxed hairdressers and sometimes they could be running late for appointments. What I did find is that none of the tope hairdressers in central Manchester can work my hair like them. Nicola and Fran really know their stuff and I would go as far to say that they offer the best cut and blow dry in Manchester. I have had amazing colours done there too, so I was surprised to see what the above customer wrote. Overall I would not go anywhere else, you are in safe hands with Nicola and Francesco

If you want to feel like Beyoncé without spending all of your Gagas then get yourself to Nino Milano and let them give you the diva treatment. A great place for a simple cut and colour, or more extensive therapies like massage, manicure and the like, Nino Milano has some skilled staff and stylists on hand to help you feel like a star. I went in for a cut not sure of what I wanted, and the stylist spent plenty of time having coffee and discussing options with me before she even picked up a pair of scissors, and I came away with a look that really suited me. The salon has a lovely range of products and is decorated with a modern Italian vibe which creates a warmer atmosphere than you get in more brash upmarket salons(see: Toni and Guy). My only comment is that whilst this salon is cheap by industry standards, the location(slap bang in the middle of Fallowfield) might mislead you to think it is as budget as the kebab shops that flank it. If you are a student make sure to flash your card, Beyoncé comes at a price ladies.
