Great service average food. I’m assuming because it was a very busy on the night the food was only what I could describe as very average. The pub was packed out, thankfully we got a table in time. The service was completely faultless, however 1 out of the 3 dishes we ordered was poor. I would describe it a tasteless and poorly thought out, in addition the side order of mash was the worst I’ve tasted. To be fair the second and third meals were good. Definitely not worth the money. To be fair I wish I’d listen to a local who said lunch time service is better than the evening. It should be 3 ½ rather than a 3 !

After a hard days work in a smelly, dusty, marquee with an amazing sea view I was taken out to this dusty, old pub with an amazing sea view. What a treat! and I’m not even joking. It was a treat. This is an amazingly nice and comfy pub. The inside is dark and cool on a hot day, with low ceilings, oak furniture and model boats in glass cases everywhere. The outside seating has the typical wooden benches with umbrellas, but goes all the way down the pier, so you sit nearly in the water. Ok, at low tide it’s more algae than anything else, but the view is still stunning. The menu is very nice and offers Cornish specialities of seafood, fish pie and lobster plus the usual of steak and burgers. All the things I tried — from starters to side to main to dessert — I was eating stuff off everyone’s plate — were delicious and everyone loved it without a doubt. A real treat!

We’ve been twice in the Pandora inn and it was great. We found it in a german traveller’s guide and were a little pessimistic, because restaurants in those guides sometimes seem to be overcrowded or tourist traps. This unique little tavern got two atmospheric rooms, the ground floor is appointed with several fireplaces. Our dinner was made of regional, fresh, seasonal products. I had freshly angled haddock, my husband had a variation of surf and turf, chamfered by a great white wine from a regional vinery, Camel Valley. The dinner was just perfect, the service crew wasabsolutely charming and helped us, wether we had problems with the translation of the menu. At the beginning it was very quiet, but when we left, I think at 9 pm, more and more people came in. Seems to be an insider.

I was recommended this pub, and while it was good, I wasn’t really that impressed. I found it quite pricey for what it was. The menu was quite limited. I have definitely been to better places. It was crowded(we had to book), I think it trades on it’s reputation. I wouldn’t go back there.
